"The curious are always in some danger. If you are curious you might never come home."
~Jeanette Winterson
Over the course of the weekend while we were in Karuizawa for the
Karuizawa International Choral Festival, we had a little free time away from rehearsing, performing, and workshopping (that's a word, right?). "A little" equals one afternoon and a couple hours here and there. On our full afternoon off, we rented bicycles and rode around the town, ate Japanese food, shopped, and took in the sights.
And now for a photo dump...
| There are vending machines (and bicycles) everywhere on the streets of every Japanese city we visited. |
| I like unique manhole covers. |

Awkward smiling/not smiling photos. |
| Tempura udon. Yum. |
| Julie and I kneeling at a table we didn't eat at, holding tea we never drank. :) |
| Melanie and Angela biking through Karuizawa. |
| Ev and Cary on a tandem. |
| Gerato. Not to be confused with Gelato. |
| Oh yes. It happened. |
| There were jars of jam and jelly in nearly every "souvenir shop." |
Next up: back to Tokyo and a concert in Kawaguchi.
