This is pretty much the coolest blog entry, I love maps! And I'm curious about regional differences. Where do you find this stuff?

Very interesting! Lots of people from my hometown in La. say "coke" for all sodas...down south Coke pretty much rules. But I think I have always said "soda."

I can't remember how (or when, for that matter) I came across this, but I saved it because I found it so interesting. However, if you google soda vs. pop, you can find a lot of informal research like this. I just loved the map!

Yeah, in Kentucky everyone says "Coke." The map shows it's a Southern thing. I guess I've never really said soda or pop. Either I use "soft drink" or the name of whatever I intend to get (i.e., rootbeer, 7-Up, red creme soda).

I don't know about anyone else, but I say carbonated beverage, but I think that I'm a little different than most.
