Very interesting! Lots of people from my hometown in La. say "coke" for all sodas...down south Coke pretty much rules. But I think I have always said "soda."
I can't remember how (or when, for that matter) I came across this, but I saved it because I found it so interesting. However, if you google soda vs. pop, you can find a lot of informal research like this. I just loved the map!
Yeah, in Kentucky everyone says "Coke." The map shows it's a Southern thing. I guess I've never really said soda or pop. Either I use "soft drink" or the name of whatever I intend to get (i.e., rootbeer, 7-Up, red creme soda).
Thanks for blog-stalking us! and for showing your face :). This map is awesome. I'm with you...I say Soda. But then again, I am from the Western United States. Happy New Year! - Dana (and Casey)

Coke
This is pretty much the coolest blog entry, I love maps! And I'm curious about regional differences. Where do you find this stuff?

Soda
I don't know about anyone else, but I say carbonated beverage, but I think that I'm a little different than most.
Definitely soda. Love being from California. :)
